CaravelNet Usage

If you have a connection to the Internet, you can keep up with the latest CaravelNet news on the title screen as you play by enabling the "Connect to CaravelNet" check box.

CaravelNet Login. With a CaravelNet user license, you may take advantage of special online features and receive special game information from the CaravelNet site and forum. To login to CaravelNet, check "Connect to CaravelNet" and enter your registered CaravelNet username and password key into the CaravelNet Name and Key fields.

Logging in to CaravelNet enables you to:

• Record your progress in user-published and official Caravel levels online. As you play, DROD will automatically upload your progress to CaravelNet in the background.
• Compete for the best scores online. When you score among the best for solving a room, this will allow others to witness the fruits of your keen intellect by downloading a demo recording of your dazzling play. You must have "Automatically save a demo when you conquer a room" turned on for this to work. High-scores are listed under both your CaravelNet username and the name of your player profile.
• Download and install new levels in-game as they become available.
• Chat with other players in-game through global and private messenging.
• Watch how the best-of-the-best play by downloading the latest record-making high-score demos for any game room published on CaravelNet.
• Have the option of taking part in privileged beta tests of upcoming holds on CaravelNet by invitation.
• If you're an aspiring level designer, you can coordinate your own beta testing group in a private space on the CaravelNet forum.

Click "Upload My Scores" to submit high-score demos for rooms you have solved while playing offline to the CaravelNet high score list. Depending on the number of rooms you have solved while playing offline, this process might take a while. You may interrupt the upload at any time by pressing ESC, then resume it again later.

An icon in the corner of the Title Screen depicts the status of DROD's connection to CaravelNet.

A grayed out icon indicates DROD is not trying to connect to the Internet.

A color icon indicates that DROD is set to connect and is successfully connecting to CaravelNet news.

An icon with a checkmark over it indicates that you are logged in as a registered CaravelNet user.

An icon with an "X" over it indicates DROD cannot connect to the Internet or the CaravelNet key set in your player settings is not valid and you must enter a valid key to login to CaravelNet.

Click "Request New Key" to have a new password key sent to the email address specified in your CaravelNet user account profile. Copy and paste this key into the CaravelNet Key text box.

Privacy notice: No personal information is gathered from your computer by DROD with Internet access enabled. Only relevant, DROD-specific data is used, and it is only for the purpose of accessing special play features in DROD. The CaravelNet site is the only Internet site that DROD accesses. We do not share this information with any third-party companies or sites.
